Opening June 21, 2025! Eric Hall: Art of the Gliff
I'm very proud and excited to announce that a major exhibition of Eric's work is opening next Saturday, June 21st, at the Frances M. Maguire Art Museum at Saint Joseph's University, 50 Lapsley Lane, Merion, PA 19066 | (610) 660 2820.
In Northern England and Scotland, a "gliff" is a term meaning "a transient glance that startles or intrigues.
The exhibit highlights Eric's work in, around, and about Philadelphia from the past 30 years, as he focused on capturing the humanity within the city. "It is the people who move within--and give life to--the city that always take my attention," he wrote. "It's the gliff of modern urban life."
Included are sketches and preparatory work for his triptych Expressway, now in the permanent collection of The Pennsylvania Convention Center, as well as some of his latest, never previously exhibited work. The exhibit runs through December 14, 2025.
