Trees at Riverton

This plein-air painting has always been a favorite of mine. I was taking a class at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art taught by one of Phladelphia's best known plein-air painters, Larry Francis. He took us to a little town on the Jersey side of the Delaware River, where I fell in love with the way the sunlight streamed through this beautiful double row of trees, separating each one out in light and shadow.

Maybe you'll fall in love with it, too.
